I have a set of Chris Perry lightweight forks and like them very much. Seems like they would be ideal to use as a quasi-grapple for handling brush piles if they had some sort of removable hydraulic thumb on top. Has anybody tried this?

I've seen some discussion previous discussion on TBN. I would also like to build a thumb that will stand straight up and out of the way when not in use. I've made some doodles and sketches, but nothing serious yet.

I think a thumb like you mention would be a great addition for brush and for logs (I cut my logs in the woods 90" long and carry them out on the forks).
