Forty years ago I was thinking: "Man, just think, in 25 years it's going to be the year 2000! A new millennium! I'll be so old then, 32!!"

I was just telling someone the other day about being young and thinking the year 2000 would never get here and now its been gone 15 years already!

40 years ago I was 16 and my life fell to pieces when my mother died.
I probably would not have made as many or the types of mistakes with my life had she still been around to provide motherly advice.
I certainly wouldn't be where I am today had she lived.

Not exactly. I was 18, living in a free condo at the beach, surfing for a living and reporting surf conditions for KMET radio. It's all kind of a blur now.

40 years ago? Let me see, I would have been -15 years old. Don't recall too much planning going on at that age!

I was -8. Mom and dad hadn't even meet. Shoot, think my dad would have been 14 or 15 at that time.

I too could not have imagined where I've ended up today, quite happy and blessed.

40 years ago I was in 8th grade middle school picturing any female under 25 naked. Come to think of it, I still do that but have raised the age by a few decades. :D

XD. I did the same. I never much payed attention to what the teachers were teaching. I just focused on the girls. lol

Interesting thread. Enjoying reading all the replies.

It's hard to believe that 15 years have gone by since then. I was only 12 in the year 2000. WOW time sure does fly.

At age 12 I was thinking the years were going by so slow. Now looking back those years just zoomed on by.

I signed a 10 year lease in December 2014 to buy a 100 year old home that I'm remodeling. Looking at the 10 years it seems like it's gonna be a long long time before I get to the last payment and get the deed issued to the place. But in reality those 10 years will fly by. I'll be 37 by then.

It's already been 4 months since I signed the papers on the house.

40 years ago I had just gone through a nasty divorce. For a while I had to look up to see the bottom. Things looked pretty bleak. Little did I think that at 51 I'd not only be in the drivers seat, I'd also own the car. Life is good.
