Foton 254 won't start after oil change

I trust my Jinma 284. Its a work horse. Just about 850 hours on my 2003 and its been a very good trouble free machine.

Did change the batter in about 07 along with a new starter about the same time to a gear reduction unit for better cold weather starting up here in our climate. Other than that just a few small items like a Thermostat and some light bulbs.

on a slightly unrelated topic.. was looking at the new northern tool catalog, the big book. looks like the nortracs are getting more stylish.

anyone got one of the newer ones? they still jinma?

All of Northern Tools new tractors are Fotons, they used to sell Jinmas from the 20hp-35hp and Fotons from the 40hp to the 82 hp

The Fotons are heavier built tractors in the 40hp and up, Jinma just never had much luck selling the larger tractors .But Jinma is had to beat in the 20hp-35hp tractor,and thats where Foton falls behind.

So they both have a strong side, parts are easy to get for both,prob. more Jinma parts because of the amount of tractors in the USA.We are increasing our Foton parts monthly also.The Small Jinma & Fotons are both using the Laidong KM385 engine

when adding oil after oil change it must be poured in engine very slow.the crankcase vent on valve cover runs into intake manifold.if poured in to fast oil flows into intake manifold and down in clyinders causing a hydralic lock.fuel injectors must be removed and then turn off fuel and crank engine over to push the oil out of cylinders....

makes having a quick connect at the hyd pump, with no relief valve in sight look like a trivial issue!!!!!

Curious why you don't just use the oil fill at the left front of the engine? It is wide open and goes directly to the sump.
There are only six push rod passages in the head and two drain passages - all are relatively small. Just how fast are you chugging that oil down? Is the oil very cold? WOW!

My Dongfeng has a vent to the intake as well but it comes off the top of the valve cover so you would really have to fill the engine fast to overflow it. My biggest problem is the air cleaner is directly over the fill cap. Makes refilling difficult unless the air cleaner is removed first.
