Going to be building a 30 x 30 900 sf home. Have a L48 and thinking of buying a 24 inch bachoe bucket to do the job. Live in Montana so hole will be about 4 feet deep Is that some thing a big excavator does a much better job at and more efficiently? Anyone do one and happy with the results or started one and wished they hired it out.

A hole that size should be easily dug with a unit that size. Heck, you could dig that with just the loader probably.

No doubt it would be more efficient with a large machine, but I say do it yourself. Take lots of pictures while you do it and share them with us. :thumbsup:
