I just bought some hunting land and found an old harrow on my property. I know nothing about these things. I've only used 3 point attachments. How can I make this thing usable? Not sure how to hook it up???? I feel REALLY stupid.

anyway, i almost tripped on this thing as i was looking at the area i'm going to make into a food plot. apparently someone else had the same idea long ago. kind of funny.

my tractor is a john deer 950 (mfwd) which is about 30 hp. i'm assuming i'll have enough power to pull it?

thanks all

It would appear that is a clamp-on attachment that clamps onto the frame of a field cultivator (or disk, disc-harrow, or othere such implement).

The field cultivator does a nice job of working up ground in spring, and a 3-bar harrow like that added on to the back really made a nice smooth seed bed in one pass.

Today thosr harrows are a part of a new field cultivator. Back 40 uears ago, it was a new idea and the harrow part was often a bolt-on deal like this made by a different company as an add-on.

One way to use it would be to build a 3t tool bar, often 2x4 inch steel tube or 4x4 would work with the clamps, and clamp it on to that.

As is, the harrow would never work with a tractor alone, it was meant to bolt onto the back of a field cultivator frame.

thanks! wish there was an easier way to put it to use. might have to find a home for it on craigslist.

With a little modification you could add it to your 3 point disk! If you have one that is.

No reason you couldn't build a 3 point hitch on the front end.

Or a 2-inch square tube on the front to plug into your 3-point-hitch-to-receiver adapter.
