It is common knowledge that the 4th gear on the 8N is fairly quick in comparison with the other 3 forward gears. So much so, that it is almost useless in the pasture ( my opinion ).
Well yesterday I found a great use for 4th while in the very back of the pasture.
I was out at the riding arena helping the wife exercise the horses when the sloppy joe I had for lunch decided to start working on the ole' intestines.
One minute I was standing there with the wife, the next I was on the tractor ( thank goodness it starts right up! ) and away I went. Tore out of there in 4th, and rode right up to the fence at the back of the house.
I just made it to the restroom with nary a second to spare, averting total disaster.
Had to hit the tums and malox hard before I could go to bed last night.......
You may laugh.. but it's true!
