Is RP worth the extra? I first heard of them when Kristen Powell was in the NHRA.

Yeah, im not a younin, been following nhra for years.Boy that goes back some (like at least 20 years). I think Cristen Powell won her first championship in 1997. Is it worth it? I suppose it has nothing over any other synthetic so I'd say no. I do have it in my Hemi Durango and picked up 2 miles per gallon over dino oil but that could have happened with any synthetic. Can leave it in 7-10k, Leaves a purplish hue to internal engine parts.
Lol, they do man. Im very serious about my lubes.
Ive seen old tractors live forever. Im not too sure about the new ones - doesnt seem to be as much metal in them. Plus, the goal is to avoid repairs, not just longevity. Once of prevention![]()
Thats just it though, low rpm with a relativly large oil bath and a whole lot of metal to wear away very slowly. Im just not sure if the newer tractors are as independent of their circumstances. Thats why I switched to the best I could find and buy.
I get your point though.
The question I have is, how do you know that RP is the "best I could find and buy"? Is being best based on testing, belief, or advertising hype or what?
I'd like to run the best I can find too, but don't know how to measure it.
Uh...actually I can think of a couple of ways to measure oil performance, but I'm lazy and would rather that someone I trust does it instead of me..
