Sassafras,

I think you have just documented yet another reason why toothbars are such critical accessories. I would venture to say that your experience might have been a bit neater if you had a grapple however. Can you envision catching one of those things from behind, just like a cheetah would? That would be tractor hunting at its finest.

I'm jealous sassafraspete. I used my tractor for the same purpose last week, only it was a doe, and my wife killed it, and she hit it with her suv instead of a gun. I'm heading to the panhandle New Year's weekend for my last hunt of the year. I better get something or my wife will not let me forget that she killed not only the first deer of the year for the gator-clan, but the only deer!

( Rick, don't tempt me... I could envision a 6530 in my driveway. That way, I wouldn't have to hold off on shooting the bigger deer. With that Cummins B3.3.... I think it would handle anything we have around here, and of course open up my options a lot more. I might have to go moose hunting if I had the 6530. I do have a neighbor with some domestic buffalo er bison ?

We just received a 6530 rolled it out of a enclosed trailer on to my rollback today, (my first one) although it is my first one I am not greedy I will pass this one on and wait for anouther one /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I am very impressed so far although it looks like I am going to have to go to school to learn how to work all of the neat levers /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Rick, I'd be interested in seeing what your impression is on the engine in the 6530. Komatsu in a joint venture with Cummins makes that engine. They are pretty famous for their construction equipment. Let's see now, if I threw in my tractor , plus the deer....what would it run me? And if I threw in the muzzle loader too?

Wallace,

It wouldn't be right for you to give up your only one. Just not fair. We can't have that. I have several so I'll take care of sassafras.... You can't say I'm not looking out for you. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The crawl range is cool, gives you 48 speeds if you count the 24 in reverse. The quality is wonderful, and it sure has the features. If only we had an air adjustable seat.

Rob, I started by trying to tie the gambrel to the bucket, then realized that if fit perfectly over my teeth and the ledge on the teeth keeps it from sliding off. I can raise it high enough to keep the yotes and dogs from reaching it.

Gator... don't feel bad. Opening weekend of firearm season here, my neighbor, his dad, and myself were all outgunned by the neigbor's wife who was the only one putting anything on the table.

One year when I failed during deer season, my wife put my name on the sheriff's road kill list. I started getting calls at 2 AM in the morning from the Sheriff's office asking if I wanted to pick up the latest road kill. Needless to say, I have made sure I put venison in the freezer every year since.

Before I was a deer hunter, I was an avid grouse hunter. I would go out with my brothers and shoot up a box of shells and bring home nothing. One year, my wife got more than any of us. She got 2 grouse that flew into our windows and broke their neck. She liked to claim she could get more grouse than us and not leave the house.

Dave, Whats the top end speed on that thing....eg if I have to drive it 18 miles to work , how fast can I get there? And low end speed? Does it come with a satellite dish? I don't think that thing will fit in my tractor tent.

I am going to have to see one of those in person....sounds like an awsome tractor. Dave, what if I throw in my tractor, the deer, the muzzleloader, and my wife?
