Here is one from the past. I found it in the dirt and cleaned it up. What is it from?

This will be a guess, (city boy) but I would say gate hinge. Gate hangs between nut and sliding collar.
Collar gets tightened down on pipe.

I finally got one and you denigrate my success by labeling the ID as an "easy one.";)
What he didn't mention, Steve, is that it was an easy one because you told us what it was. :p James didn't 'really' know ... right, James?

That would be the handle from a scythe, minus the wood. Another easy one. The nut on the end was set into the end of the wood of the handle and just turn the wood to tighten the handle. Identifying these old items, it helps being OLD.

I will not speak ill of James other than to note a major flaw in his character -- his promiscuity in offering gratuitous endorsements of bogus theories regarding pallet formations.;)

I must defend James' honour regarding his asserted promiscuity! (Please note that this defence pertains only to this accusation as I cannot speak to any other instances of his profligateness). His endorsements were continually offered to encourage the pursuit of different avenues of Pallettology and his efforts should be lauded.

This is in contrast to a "certain someone" who continually obfuscated suggestions and lines of inquiry by bringing up the 'scienceness' (or lack thereof) of a proposed theory.
