Four years 4 months on OEM battery in 2025R

The battery was dead on the 2025R this afternoon. Bought in July, 2015.

My 2012 B2620 OE battery is still going, but I leave ti on a maintainer most of the time. I like the carrying handle on the OE battery because the Kubota is stored outdoors. Hence I remove the battery for the maintainer plug in the unheated garage. It also may be a deterrent for easily stealing the whole tractor.

how long was the battery in the tractor before you bought it?
how long was the battery sitting on a shelf before it was installed in your tractor?
does your tractor sit outside or inside?
have you ever jump started it?
do you keep it on a battery tender when not in use?

batteries are like a first date. you never know whats going to happen and when.
