This is a little late to help Coobie any but for JayRM ...
I had to look at the pictures to see what we were talking about - everyone around here just call it a "tiller" (as opposed to a roto-tiller I guess)
About a month back I was pulling our 7 tine one (no clue what brand, it's older than I am) thru some good Virginia clay (with roots and rocks). Top cover was un-mowed field grass / broom straw and was anywhere from 6 to 10 inches tall and we had several good (1"+) rain showers the week before so things were soft / moist but not enough to be muddy or sticky.
Unless I hit a large root that was anchored pretty good, I most of the time pulled it buried full depth with little to no issues with our CK.
It has Loaded Ag tires and FEL still attached. Low range 3rd gear and she just chugged along.
