I quickly am approaching my 50 hour service on my NH TC 21 D. When I purchased it I was told I got "Free 50 Hour Service" I have been hearing that this may not be really free? Anyone had any experience with NH and this offer? I don't really want to go my dealer until I find out from others and am armed with as much info as I can get.

I have a TN 65. I have free labor with my fifty hour service but I have to pay for filters and fluids.

I believe that the 50 hr "free" service is an offer dealers commonly make to close the deal. I don't know of any package deal from NH which includes this service. As a result, some folks negotiate "free" labor and some "free" labor, filters, and liquids. It varies from dealer to dealer, so the best advise would be for you to check with your dealer before taking your tractor in for service. As an aside...if you want to be sure all your filters are changed, mark the old ones with a felt-tip pen before taking your tractor in for service. If the service people forget to change a filter, it will be obvious.

when i change a filter, i scratch the date and hours on tractor on the new one. if i write it somewhere else, i lose it.

I worked it into my deal that they gave me all the filters and fluids for the first change on everything, not just the 50 hours service. I do the labor myself i told them. My dealer seems good, but i still know if i do it myself its done right. They are most likley capable. All the fluids were right when i took delivery, so i suspect they can do it right again, but i like to do all my own stuff that i can. It was not somthing NH gave me in my deal. It was the dealership that gave me the items to do it all.
Good Luck, Larry

Mine was free, but not until I reminded them about the "free 50 hour service" I was promised. I didn't have anything in writing, but it was no problem. When I bought the tractor I was told I would have to pay for the fluids only. When I got the tractor back from the service, I was billed over $200 for filters and fluids! I called the salesman and told him I was not expecting to pay that amount. He said "no problem, sorry for the mistake" and I wasn't charged anything, not even for the fluids. It depends on your dealer, but don't be soft and don't be rude, just be firm!
