Free JD Chair

I couldn't find the thread on the JD advertising but thanks to whoever posted that! (click on the Deere ad at the top of the Deere forums) I printed my free chair certificate and took my youngest son over to our dealer yesterday for a test drive. Well, it was too cold and snowy for a test drive, particularly as I'm not in the market right now. We briefly discussed a 4110/410/46 combo he had sitting out there. It was enough to have him fill out the paper for my free chair /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In the warmth of the showroom we did test "sit" a new compact gator (CS I think). Pretty neat. 8 or 10 hp gas engine. Two bucket seats and a small dumping bed. $4995 which is less than the full size gator. There is also a new full size gator 4X4 but didn't see one.

My son checked out several pedal tractors and toys while I picked up some brochures and considered buying more chain. Decided against it for now.

On our way back to the truck we did walk through the compacts. Saw the 4110/410/46 unit so I had to sit. Nice little rig. Then it hit me... I caught a quick glimpse out of the corner of my eye... could it be... YES, it was a 4510 Power-Reverser! With R4s no less! I had to sit on it. Brushed the snow and ice off the seat and gave it a test. Very nice! That is a much larger tractor than my little 790. Feels much more substantial. Imagine... 12F, 12R gears! Direction changes at the flick of a lever. Brakes and clutch right where they should be. Much roomier operator station than my 790. Very impressive machine! My rear is now cold and wet from the still icy seat /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

On the other side of the yard we could hear the rumble of an 8000 series tractor warming up. I wonder if you get a whole couch for testing one of those???

Also saw a 4400 Synch-Reverser, a couple 790s, a bunch of 2210s, some other 4110s and various others that I didn't look at too closely. My cold rear and my son were beckoning me to the relative warmth of my truck.

I spent much of yesterday and a lot of my dollars at Menards and Lowes picking up materials to finish off part of our basement, so looking at tractors wasn't possible. Think I will visit my salesguy and check out a new JD so I too can get a free chair. It's just below zero this morning where we live, as much as I want to get some seat time on my 4210 I will pass on the opportunity for today.

I can relate... carpet coming tomorrow for our basement!!! Can't wait, finally a place for the kids to call their own. Then I can move on to phase two, my shop... a place for me to call my own /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, plenty cold here too. I spent a couple hours yesterday pushing back snow banks. Got some fresh gas for the chainsaw so I'm trying to work up the motivation (and warmth) to go out and cut some trees /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I thought of you the other day watching that "Made in America" segment on the JD combines. Are you going to watch your tractor being made and drive it off the line? They showed a shuttle cart full of visitors in the combine piece. That's one thing we didn't do in our visit to Moline a couple of years ago. I'm regretting it but they probably wouldn't have let our kids come along anyway.

When do you get your "real" tractor Richard? Be sure to start a thread for us wannabees to drool over /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I got it a couple months ago. The factory is in Waterloo, IA. I went up there and drove it right off the assembly line. They even gave me a gold key for it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You guys are killing me /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. And, here I thought I was going to move up by getting a 990. Well, tomorrow, I am going to go for my test drive, so I can join the "elete" John Deere Chair Club. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
I test drive some of my tractors everyday. The ones I keep outside, in warm weather, I test drive almost everyday. That would be my 790, 757, HD45 and 68. During cold weather, I test Drive, inside, my 8420, 6410, 310SG and Z Trak. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. See Pics Attached.

I am WAY ahead of you with the JD toys, when I get my new home office done and the PC set up I will unpack everything and proudly display my collection...which is the REAL reason I am working on the office. LOL

Hey, I went and did my test drive today. Drove a 4610. Nice tractor, but way too much plastic on it for me. I guess I have got spoiled by my 790 and all the metal on it. I kinda miss the exhaust pipe coming straight up on the left, too. I guess, If I get to trade, it will be for a 990. Hopefully, Deere doen't dis-continue it. That would be my luck!. The new chair should be on the way in a couple of months.
