Freedom Hitch

It was worthless to me. It's the same as the SpeCo brand (or at least looks like it). I found that it would only work on less than half the implements I had. To give you some idea, LandPride sells it now, and it won't even work on their box scraper (unless they've changed it recently so it will).

Thanks for the lead Rich and thanks for the real life info about it Mark. Land Pride is gobbling every body up smaller companies that is. But mabe these small companies are pretty smart sell when all is good and get top dollar for the company.

Spoke with Freedom Hitch yesterday. I talked to Bob in sales and then Dole Godberd. Basically they told me to have a nice day and wished me well in Georgia.

Here are the facts: If we all order together we will get a 15% discount. This is the same discount you get if you order 10 or more pieces at a time. But all the pieces have to go to one location and be paid for by one person. Then that person gets the fun job of collecting the money and shipping out the individual orders UPS to everyone who ordered. As to the 15% discount, by the time you add in the shipping costs to get the Freedom Hitches to the main distributor and then the shipping charges to get them out to everyone, well, there isn't a 15% discount.

Only way around this is to have the big order broken down into smaller regional orders (of at least 10 pieces and paid for by one person) and shipped to centeral areas around the country. And then the people who bought the Freedom Hitches drive over and pick them up and pay the person who bought the Freedom Hitches for that area.

The tractor part of the Freedom Hitch (male) weighs 54lbs, and the implement part (female) weighs 61lbs.

The fellows I talked to were nice, but they weren't really interested in a 30% discount.

Dale can be reached at freedomhitch.com or www.godberd@pionet.net. Maybe if we all email with a common interest, that being from tractorbynet, we will get a better deal.

Sorry fellas.

Just don't buy one! They will remain a list price company until there is real competition. Since it takes me an average of 3 minutes to hook up the three point, I will probably never be a customer anyway. I have a cat 2 three point and it is very easy to hook up. If it is better than the three point that ol Ferguson invented, then all new tractors will come with it anyway! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Ok, one of oldest posts on the forum (9 years ago!).

I see someone has tried to contribute the field by manufacturing (custom, on order? - their web link not working anymore), but, it seems that people have not shown much interest. But, now, different kinds of hitchs; quick hitch, fast hitch, easy hitch, etc etc since then. I can't see any picture of Freedom Hitch now. But, someone claimed similar to A-Frame. So, anyone has a picture? Where is Freedom Hitch now? Available in the market? Web site?

I have several Freedom Hitch pieces which I have had for years. A couple of years ago, I decided that I wanted a couple extra and when I tried to order them, I found out they (Midwest Industries) were no longer making them. I inquired if they had any laying around in the warehouse and the answer was no. They did offer the list of their distributors/retailers, from which I was able to get a couple more implement pieces.

My understanding was that they had decided to focus their attention on other business. I suspect that they would entertain offers to purchase their product patents if someone wanted to manufacture the product. I'm just a guy who really likes the product and the 30 seconds it takes me to hook-up and unhook implements (without anyone else to help). No interest (or resources) to manufacture.

I would be delighted if someone else began to manufacture the product again, especially if it was compatible with the pieces I currently have. For now, for those that want something similar, then the option would be Delta Hook. I have no experience with Delta Hook, but looking at their web page, the concept seems similar to Freedom Hitch.

Thank you folks. It seems it is very similar to Delta Hook. But, I found the price of Delta Hook a little high.
