Freezer distilling

Yes exactly. This isn't distillation, it's concentration. It does intensify the flavor and almost makes it more syrupy. Unfortunately I have no way of measuring the alcohol content. I've only done this to Peach Apricot wine so far...

I've had a police officer from the neighborhood in to try it and he didn't seem to have any problems with it :)
The house I bought in Itawamba County is in a DRY county. The person I bought it from was a deputy sherrif at one time. He was renowned for his parties. After he moved out I just about filled a dumpster with beer bottles. No cans, they were probably all turned in for $$. I've one 30x60 workshop we still call "the party shed" because that is what it had been. In case you haven't noticed being a police officer and breaking/ignoring the law is not uncommon.

<snip>
I see quite a few small plots of field corn being grown in my area. Not sweet corn, field corn. The places do not have farm animals, and in any case, the plots are too small to feed any livestock. Why would people grow a small plot of field corn? :rolleyes::D I swear, some nights I can hear a thumper running some where to my south east...

Food plots for deer. It's usually more cost effective to buy the raw materials than chance growing them.

I have a hydrometer, it's for spirits, or before & after making wine... to use in a formula to find %. Not sure how to translate that to what I'm doing... according to it, there is no alcohol in it. Floats right on top.

Yeah, my police neighbor said that as long as I'm not selling it, he doesn't care. LOL I'm just getting to know him. So far I know he's a prepper, gun collector, has a rotwiller and a sheperd and plans to buy a BX25. Pretty cool guy :)

I am in Canada. I'm sure the laws are slightly different, but similar.

Yup. I've got friends that make shine. Sugar, yeast and water. Anything else costs too much. Don't be fooled by the shows on tv.

I'm gonna find out tomorrow what peach apricot tastes like evaporated and condensed. ;)

I don't think the corn is food plots for critters. One, the fields are a bit too large but not large enough for any commercial use, and two they are usually near the person's house and the houses have plenty of grass to attract deer. The deer at our place eat our grass and they are within a few feet or yards of the house. No need for a corn food plot at all. I could easily shoot the deer with a pistol. Heck, if I made a spear and practiced throwing it, I could hit the deer from the house.

I don't think the small corn fields I see are for "commercial" moonshine production but it is being done for friends and family. "Commercial" moonshine is still done in my area of NC, heck, I think over most of NC, since there is such a huge profit in the business. A few years ago, a mayor in a small town in a nearby county was caught with a couple of hundred gallons of moonshine he kept in a "fuel oil" tank next to the house. Pretty clever place to put the shine. I have been told that years ago the Sheriff of our county ran his own still and when it was time to get some publicity about busting up an operation, he would "find" his own still and bust it up. :laughing::laughing::laughing: There use to be a still on our place many decades ago, I would guess in the 30's or 40's. I found a rusted out kerosene can and the top of a clay jug near a spring with a nearby rock structure to hold a fire and still. There is a horse shoe in the creek that almost certainly from the moonshiners horse or mule. :D I have found the shoe and so have the kids but we just left it in place for some one else to find when we no longer own the place. Passing it forward so to speak. :laughing::laughing::laughing:

Dude, I've smoked pot and been extremely drunk in public with police officers... (a long, long time ago on the pot), but never the less.... :laughing: Ignorance of the law is no excuse. :laughing: Best to check just in case a nosy neighbor or moral police show up. :thumbsup:

Sounds tasty on the peach apricot wine. :licking:
