French drain over/across septic lines

   / French drain over/across septic lines #11
There are getting to be really expensive rule & regulations concerning septic systems. I would not mess with the leach _field_ if at _all_ possible. Only leads to more expense sometime, some day.

I would go for the route over the single line leading to your leach field if at all possible. I would use solid pipe for 10 or more feet anywhere near the septic field or line to protect yourself from septic regulations.

Think this through, where does your leach field drain to? If you take water & direct it to a low spot below your leach field, it may have bad effects on the leach field itself. Just a heads up.

Where I live a septic system costs $5000 - 8000, and any exsisting old ones are only allowed until you have problems or property changes hands or there is an 'issue'. People do what they can to not make any changes or do any digging near their septic systems around here to draw attention to it.
