Just to let you know, I bought some quick links for my chains. Whil installing, I note that there was a 'bald spot' on my chains, something I had ascribe to a bad installation on my part. So I got some 3/8 twisted chain and made up the gap (with more quick links) and installed the chains.

I don't get stuck so much anymore, which is a good thing. Now I have to add some weight, but I'll start by making an ice scraper gizmo for the rear.

Thanks

Glad my advice was some help, and just a caution---those quick links stick out further from the tire than the chains do, on my 318 I dished the rear wheels out to provide a little more clearance between the inner QL and the brake activation rod and lever. If I let my chains get loose the QL might have snagged the hardware. And that would make for some colorful words to post on this forum... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
