I have a 7610 with a Curtis FEL 6.5' power angle plow. I also have a 60" rear blower and my R4 tires are filled and have chains (for the hill & ice).
The only time I have had a problem with the tractor going sideways is when I have too much down pressure on the plow. This will allow the front tires to float and then it will go off to the side.
As I plow I keep feathering and adjusting the plow ( 1900' gravel driveway). We just had a 20" storm last week. No problems. On my first pass, I anlge the plow to the left and drive to the road. I then Back up with the blower running and my driveway is done in 2 passes. Last year in our old house I did the same procedure on the paved driveway. The only time I had issues with the front end is when I had to much angle bite or down pressure. On the paved driveway I could plow in the float mode, but on gravel, it doesn't work well.
I just tried the ABS pipe last week, and it worked awesome until the pipe broke. I am working on getting a different kind of plastic that can take the cold without being brittle.
I wouldn't hesitate to put the plow on the FEL.
