Model is a B1700, but I will take any location or experience on any model.

Got this used, it was in fair condition. The front axle leaked a lot, had a lot of water in in one side, replaced all the seals and O rings.

However, I am still losing a little oil. Yesterday after rototilling about an acre I pulled the fill/level plug to check it and got a pressure release. So I started looking at the parts breakdown for a vent to clean. Nothing??

Does anyone know how the front axle is vented? I'm thinking what I am losing now is being pushed passed seals or O rings by pressure build up, there is no streaking or drips when it is parked.

If you don't get replies, you might want to start a new thread, and put B1700 front axle in the title. Just a suggestion. See how this goes for awhile. My reply will at least bump it up.:)

I'm not familiar with the B1700, but the B7100 and B2710 vents were obvious; little curved tube on top of the front axle housing. I'm surprise the B1700 wouldn't have the same thing.

On the JD forums we were just discussing this as many of the JD axles are pressurized. I changed mine...
