NH TC29D
I own a New Holland TC29D and would like to add a Front Bumper, both for protection and added counter weight. Would like to build my own. Looking for ideas and suggestions, hopefully with pictures.

Perhaps a modification of the ones used on the old 8N's.. and early hundred series / naa?

MiniOaks,

Checkout the "DIY grille guard " post in the Kioti forum. Might give you some ideas.

I bolted a length of rail road rail to the front of my Yanmar 1500D. It added 150 lbs of weight and I can push anything the tractor can handle.

I made my front bumber with 3 x 3 square tubing from a scrap yard. The long piece bolts to the two short pieces, which are welded to a flat plate, which bolts to the front frame. Two chain hooks on the top are very handy. Even more handy is a receiver that is welded underneith. The front deck shown pins in the receiver in minutes.

Thanks Jim, nice looking rig. Great idea for chain hooks and receiver, always looking for an extra hand to carry tools and supplies. Would have to close in the ends because of the bees and wasps we have here in La.

After you mentioned that, i wanted a bumper for my 1920. As it would turn out... NH doesn't make one.

My 8N has a nice one.. my yanmar has a decent one I built out of 2 lengths of 4" pipe filled with concrete and rebar. I ended up making a brushguard this weekend for the 1920. I posted a pic of it in the build it yourself RE: brushguard

I need to get more pics.. but it is nice and sturdy. It will be easy to add a rail in front to hang the suitcase weights from.

Have you looked at the same grille guard from the dealer? I have a 33D with the 35 series guard and it looks great, extremely heavy duty and well built. Takes about 20 minutes to install. Can also be used with the "suitcase" weights and the Super Steer, which I have. It's about $180

Thanks for the info Earthwerks, haven't seen one of those grille guards yet. Can you post a picture of the one you have??? Trying to get ideas - would like to build it myself.

Yeah, post a pic. I would have never made a grill guard for my tractor.. but would have opted for a factory one.. but new holland told me they didn't make one... figures...

Don't know about how earthwerks mounted the grill guard on his TC33, but I don't think you can mount it if you have a 7308 loader. Here is the grill guard on my TC45D with a 16LA loader. It folds down so you can raise the hood. If you don't plan on getting a loader, you might customize a TC33 to accept this grill guard. Good luck.
