I bought my JD 790 tractor back in July without a FEL. I found all kinds of honey-do's that needed to be done, but, I did not have a FEL to complete them with. HMMM, what to do? Can do only so much with a boom pole and a box blade. We purchased 18 acres this past fall and then I really found a need for a FEL, as the honey-do list got MUCH LARGER every time we went out to the property! Talked to the better half about it and thought maybe I would purchase one in the spring. Better half has a hot line directly to Santa Claus, and he brought me one for Christmas! (one of the many reasons she IS the BETTER HALF). Now my honey-do list is getting smaller, but I keep adding to my list of things that need to be done with the FEL.
This is a small list of things I use my FEL for:
Moving skids of ARCh building parts around.
Hauling trees and brush from the property.
Moving a 260' long 19th century rock wall that is on the road frontage of our property.
Moving mounds of dirt to a location about 400' away.
Installing culverts.
Moving surface rock.
Moving rolled up balls of old barbed wire.
Cleaning up after the contractor leaves.
Raising people in the FEL to help assemble my arch building. (you saftey conscious people ignore this statement)
Moving Generators and compressors.
Loading implements on the flat bed trailer.
And, the list goes on and on. If I puchase another tractor, I can guarantee it will come with a FEL. It has to be the most useful implement I own.
