Bud - I went out and crawled under my tractor, and I see EXACTLY what you are saying - there does not appear to be a connection between the rear drive and the "front mission", so here is what I did. I pulled the 14mm drain plug for a second, and super UDT flowed forth. I know it was Super UDT because I drained it at 50 hours, and added it myself. The only place I added fluid was at the yellow plug in the back, so I must say that by definition there is a way for fluid to get from the rear to the front. I looked all around and all I can say is this - the hydraulic block that diverts fluid to the front loader controls bolts to the side of the "front mission case". I wonder if on the back side of that plate there is a connection to the "front mission"? I have never looked at the back of one of these plates so I do not know if they are just a solid piece of metal or if fluid can get from the plate to the case. If so, that is our answer I would guess. The other idea I have is that the hydraulic pump itself bolts on very near to the "front mission", so is it possible that there is a direct connection from the pump? Any dealers out there know the answer??
Mark - I was misinterpreting what Bud was saying. Like you, I thought he was talking about the front axle when he said front drive, but on the B series at least there is a box, refered to as the front mission case in the manual, that obvioiusly holds hydraulic fluid, but which has no OBVIOUS connection to the rear drive , which is where you add the fluid, and where the dipstick is. Is there a similar aerrangement on the L series, and if so, how DOES fluid get there? Maybe it is from the power beyond block like I surmised above??
