Had this happen to me with my #67 loader but in my case I broke the little spring that was in one of the valves (float) at the lever control. I could lower the bucket by pushing forward but I had hydraulic pressure. In my case the valve within the lever control (called a spool valve and has a bunch of orifices that when lined up with holes in lever housing direct hydraulic flow) could not come back when in neutral detent so my fel would go up by itself. JD does not sell spool valves as valves are lapped for particular housing. Would have cost me $700 for new lever control. Smart parts guy found the spring on a schematic for a garden tractor. $4.38. Worked better than ever.

Rather than post a new thread I am replying to this if that is OK? I have a JD430 loader just back from the dealer after they removed it for other repairs. The loader works as it should except for when I want to dump the bucket. When trying to dump the bucket the engine and maybe hydraulic pump seems to labor and the bucket drops forward very slow. I have removed and re-attached the QDs at least twice with no results. any ideas? could it be a QD coupling? and if so are the couplings easy to replace?
