The only front mounted BHs I have seen are on bob-cats. I have also seen an extended arm with a hydraulic bucket that uses the FEL dump to angle the arm. Something like that would be fairly easy to make for a CUT. I see two problems one is visability, the other digging force with the curl cylinder.

I see a third problem. Dumping what you just dug up. A backhoe lets you swing to the side to dump the bucket. You would have to move the tractor after each dig.
You don't like switching seats do you?
There are swinging hoes for skid steers that I believe mount on quick attach plate. Check the construction forum where the skid steer guys hang out.

Nah...it's a money thing. I would like a BH, but can't justify that much money at present. However, I might be able to talk myself into one of these if they prove to be practical. I realize that they have limitations. Just hoping to get thoughts from people that have use one.
The link below is one I "lifted" from another thread. Know of any other brands?
I was trying to remember where I'd posted that link, but you found it anyway/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. The Struck Dozer Page used /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif to have info on their versions and a movie but they don't seem to be there anymore. They had one fixed one, and another that swang to the side. There's pictures of the BH50 (fixed one) that I just found in the pdf brochure .
I'm not much of a fan of CADplans, but they have plans for a Skid Steer Hoe too.
I was thinking of making something like this, but in the end I designed and built a backhoe attachment.
Attached is a picture of a real simple backhoe that someone made (I guess) using pipe. It has a fixed bucket (no curl). I figure you could make something like this pretty easily that could attach to a bucket (or instead of a bucket).
I've seen another one too, but can't bring it to mind right now. Sorry. HTH. Andrew.
