Front PTO needed on SCUT?

Yea, the little 2305 isn't going to handle multiple attachments running on the PTO very well. Heck, it can bog down quickly with one larger implement because it is only rated for 18HP max on the PTO. I do appreciate the responses. After reading the responses, I'd certainly consider getting it if I buy a much larger tractor but as it stands I think I'll stick with my original thought. While you guys have presented a valid argument for a larger tractor, I'm just not convinced yet that there is a good reason for one on my 18HP PTO SCUT.

Good points brought up already...

My tractor has a front PTO and I never used it before, but thought about hooking up a small PTO generator just so my tractor has 220/120 volt capability without tying up the rear of my tractor for other work.

Just a thought

The big problem with the middle PTO is its its turning opposite the direction of the rear PTO & over double the speed. So you can't just use a rear PTO impliment without some decent gearbox work. And a generator is extremely sensitive to RPM. If you dont get the RPMs right the AC frequency is way off. Bad AC frequency will kill things as bad or worse than bad voltage.

Also unless you had some good driveshaft work in combination with the gearbox setup whatever was on the center PTO would be hanging really low & likely to get hit.
