Tucker,
Very impressive greenhouse You have!!
How do You change or add the ground inside? Or You're just opening the plastic to refresh it?
This summer was the first growing year with the hoophouse so we are kind of learning as we go. In the spring we put about 4 or- so inches of peat moss and about 4 inches of well broken down compost on the existing soil and tilled it in to loosen it up and create something for the plants to feed off of over the summer. Later in the growing season the tomatoes had already used up the soil and we had to put more compost on it. Next year we will need to add more compost to the soil(if we can find some more compost:(). The soil was clay fill to start with so it is a job to get it to great garden soil. The sides on the hoophouse roll up to the 2x4 rail on the walls. This allows us to regulate the temp. and to allow the breeze to pollinate so we don't have to do it.

I'm gonna build a greenhouse so that 2 persons would be able to lift it up and to put it in the other place of garden when needed.
That sounds like a good idea for ease of getting a tractor in there to till the soil and you could start you plants in there early and then when it warms up move it to let the rain water it and the breeze pollinate.

So you built the plywood so that the top and bottom hang over the center so that the pipe can ride in the middle as you bend it?
What type of pipe did you use?
How many pieces of pipe did you use for each arch?
thanks

Correct, the center was the same thickness as the pipe so it put pressure on the sides of the pipe as it was bent, to help keep it from kinking.

What type of pipe did you use?
How many pieces of pipe did you use for each arch?

The pipe for the arches was chainlink fence toprail material. It took two pieces for one arch and this allowed the pipes to slip together because of how the fence pieces slip together with the one end of each pipe compressed to fit into the other end of another pipe. I'm not sure on the dimension of the pipe so I will have to get back to you on that.

Thank You for recipe of pico de galo. Some ingredients, which we're not able to plant (like chili, lime, mango), we may purchase. I can't wait to taste it :licking:

Arthur, you may prefer to make a simple pico de gallo and then dress it up as your taste prefers with garlic, olive oil, etc. Here is a link to a simple recipe and there are many if you Google it.

If people want a more detailed account of the hoop house project I can start a new thread and describe it in more detail.

Yes, please start a new thread on a hoop house subject. We'll share our experiences and projects in it. I guess it's a good time for that.

Thank You, Jim, I've checked the link. I'll really make this salad including some improvisation according to Your advice. Just didn't take a look at the Google yet. I'll do it indeed.

But what I'd like to point out is that nothing might be compared to what people say emotionally, what they feel or what they might be inspired from, while expressing their experience - neither Google nor any kind of Wikipedia or something like that. These words (or very similar) belong to my sister (ethnic anthropologist), who's participating in the field researches and she's simply listening and recording what especially venerable age of folk is talking.

My comparison has no link to the folk age. But it has a huge link to what You say due to ... Your taste buds :) Your or anybody's else in the world taste and his(her) individual definition says me a lot more, than anything described on a paper or in an e-screen. Although I do respect written culture.

I'm not sure if You could undertand me correctly because of my complicated English
But I hope :)
