Has anyone had a similar experience with JD? I live in western NC and the closest JD dealer is about 50 miles away so I’ve done all my research on the web, I have asked via the JD website for quotes from 4 different JD dealers and none of them have followed up. I am ready to buy and I can’t get anyone to take my money. I’m thinking I might have to go orange in hope of getting some service. Anyone have any suggestions? I would more then happy to deal with any dealer who will deliver.

There was one dealer in the area that was JD. He had four dealerships. You notice that I said Had. He is still a dealer for a couple of other brands, but not JD. The new dealer appears to be wanting business and trying to work with customers. If these dealers are that way before you buy, think about how they will be after they get your money.

No, I have not had a similar experience with JD. Where I live here in PA there are at least 3 dealers and I have always received quotes from them. Now I will say that I personally visited each dealer to get a quote. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Most people in the tractor world seem to be less than computer friendly... give them a voice or a face to talk to and you'll likely get a good response.

I have to admit that I try and get right back to Customers who go through the Deere site and request a quote, however I have noticed that I don't always get the request (am not sure why)? If you do want a Deere, I would recommend giving the Dealer a call and see how seriously they want your business (might go to the GM and make him aware of the problem, his response will tell you a lot)-

I was not impressed with the JD dealers I went to in PA and WV when looking for a new tractor. All they would ever give me was the MSRP price and send me on my way. No test drives offered, (2 out of 5 did not have the machine in stock so that is one reason), very limited interest in making a sale, and never any follow-up. No big deal to me, went down the road to Kubota, got a great dealer that worked with me for 2 hours and sold a tractor with loader, BB, and MMM. To be honest I am glad I got the Kubota, been great and I highly doubt when I upgrade I will even look at JD again as long as the Kubota keeps holding up as well as it is.
Good luck

on my first naive visit to a nearby JD I had no idea what I'd have to spend on a decent machine. I mentioned I wanted to spend $5k or so and the guy practically disappeared in front of my eyes. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif Then I went around and kicked tires at lawn and garden shows and got educated. they were more than happy to write up a quote.

Like another posted already recommended... give 'em a call. I'm sure they get a gazillion emails... many of which aren't serious buyers. Good luck and keep us posted /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've been to one of my local dealers & talked directly with the owner each time.

His attitude was SO condescending that by the time I left, I wanted to verbally tell him to shove his backhoe...uh... never mind what I wanted to say... Let's just say that I politely left and decided if I EVER went back there to get a quote, it would be with certified check in hand and then right as I was ready to sign the deal with cash in hand, have a second thought and tell him his previous attitude made me change my mind as I walk out and he laments why someone would walk out at the very last second.

Thanks for everyones input. I get that these guys are busy and may not be to computer savvy but you would think JD would be interested in their dealer follow-up.
I recieved a couple of suggestions via e-mail and I will check them out and keep you posted.
Thanks again for your input this board is outdstanding!
