Oil & Fuel Fuel additive

Should I add a diesel additive every time I fuel my tractor. I was told to add Lucus fuel additive by some friends that have tractors.

I use Howes.

I put it in all my cans before I fill them. That way it's ready to go in the tractor when I need a fill up.

The Howes has worked well even in sub zero weather.

I add Power Service in the white bottle with every fill up. I have no problems year round.

I use Clean Flo most of the time, and make sure I add it if the tractor is going to sit. I use gas station fuel so it's fresh, if you have your own fuel tank I'd use it ever time.

Use what you want any good additive works but lucas is what we use. just a bit every other tank is good. More is better but sometimes not necessary like when your running the tractor every day.

I add NOTHING to my fuel, ever... and I have NO fuel problems at all, same for my farmer neighbor, my brother and my other farmer friends...

I just don't understand all this "have to add" attitude on this site...

I had major issues last year and none this year with a record cold February. Minus 35 c some mornings. So if the fuel delivered is for winter service, (and my provider says there is a difference) gives you no grief, I see no point in adding anything for anti-gelling.

Now, providing lubrication for your injector pump in this day of ultra low sulpher diesel is another matter, and I try and add additive to my bulk tanks for this purpose. But, I have to say, I don't understand why it's not already put in there if it's a requirment of every Diesel engine? Would an engine meet EPA running fuel with additives, I wonder?
