A friend of mine gave me a "Fuel and Lubricants" bullitin that Yanmar published in the late 80's. In the fuel specifications section Yanmar states "To further insure satisfactory operation, use fuel having less than 1.0 percent sulfer-preferably less than 0.5 percent sulfer". I have noticed in my area that "Off Road Diesel" is labeled "High Sulfer" and "On Road Diesel" is labeled "Low Sulfer". There is no indication of the percent sulfer content of either fuel. My question is, what is the best fuel to use on my Yanmar?
I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I would like some clarification if possible.
