We had found that the spring at the bottom is to tight, Prior to the new fuel bowl we would cut half of ring off of the spring...Make sure it is half of ring and not half of the spring.
Quick and easy tip to keep your old style bowl from cracking.

I may need to try this myself. I just had the 2nd fuel bowl crack on my DK 35.

Not sure I would cut my spring, the fact that there is a "new softer plastic fuel bowl that will not crack" leads me to beleive that the spring is not the issue and that it may be related to older plastic that was used?

The only reason I am wondering is that the spring is by design, so if you get the "new" style, would you replace your "cut" spring as well. It would seem the spring is compressed to that strength for a reason... IMO

The first time my fuel bowl cracked I did buy a spare.
1 year later I needed it.

I'm rather disgusted right now as I was down the road to help a neighbor with his driveway when it happened. Best if I wait awhile to post more thoughts...

When I went to put my CK30 away today I noticed an unusual dark spot on the ground. Opened the hood and the left side of my engine is covered in diesel fuel... another fuel bowl cracked on the bottom 299hrs on the tractor. What does a new bowl cost? Should I order 2, or are the new ones working out?

Just a thought. If I was having this much trouble with my fuel filter and had work to do; I would go down to my local auto parts store and buy an inline filter and bypass the stock assembly.

The old bowls were clear hard plastic (I had 2 of these crack).
The new one I received is white and cost around $10. Can't say how the new style white plastic bowls are going to hold up yet.
