Oil & Fuel Fuel cap gasket fell into tank. Now what?

I have a Kubota 7510 HST. The gasket separated from the fuel tank cap and fell into the fuel tank. Arghh. I'm assuming that sooner or later it will block the flow of fuel to the engine. How can I get it out?

If you run the tank low on fuel it may be a lot easier to see and snag.

on my 4330 the gas cap is offset substantially from the fuel outlet on the tank and you'd have to be a lucky contortionist to fish it out if it was actually blocking the flow (of course, you could fill the tank with mercury and it would float)

Plan A-Try a coat hanger.
Plan B-Get a new gasket and dont sweat it.
I have had a gasket in a dump truck fuel tank for years with no problem.

Sorry to hear. This is a known issue. The fix is buy a new tractor.

You can get one of those flexible retrieval tools from Sears. That might work..

I doubt it will ever give you any problems. The fuel flow rate is so low it would have to wrap itself around the outlet to have any effect at all.

There is probably a strainer of sorts over the outlet, it may even be a raised pipe in the tank, possible to damage it if you fish around too much with a coat hanger.

Unless it actually gives you grief, I'd just forget about it.

I'd just run the level down as low as needed ( drain tank ) ? Then, take a coat hanger, put a small hook in it, grab a mini mag light, and go fishin' !

If you are really concerned and can't get it using any of the aforementioned techniques, drain the tank turn it off and get the gasket out more easily.
