I filled the tank on my L3650 this weekend and starting with 1/4 tank, I was surprised to need only about 5 gallons to do the job.

Does anybody know what the tank capacity is on this unit? I guess I expected something like 12 or 14 gallons and it appears more like 7.

tractorsmart.com has all the specifications for your tractor. Unfortunately when I went to it, the L series page was down. I checked the M series and B series and they have a great list of specifics for each tractor including engine type and associated data.

Rat,

I already checked it and printed it off. Unfortunately, they don't list capacities other than engine displacement, bore, stroke, etc. Nothing on the tractor itself, just the engine.

Just seems like a 7 gallon tank is a little small for a 4 cyl tractor. About 1/2 that in my car. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I have an L3600 and the capacity is 9.2 gallons. I'm betting yours is the same. If you're going by the fuel gauge then you have the same problem that I do. It lies to you. When mine is on E it really has a couple of gallons left. I usually fill it before then anyway but when mine would get down to a quarter tank it would only take five gallons as well.

Rat,

I've missed that section entirely. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for it.

Thanks, I guess I was just amazed that the tank filled so quickly, and thought maybe the guage was off by 8 gallons or so. I was plannng to grab an extra fuel can. Now I guess I can get by with just the one. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

That's interesting. The capacity of my 3050 is 11.4 gallons. I have noticed that with the accumulation of hours, the engine seems to use less fuel. I am glad the tank is not bigger, the fuel might get STALE!!!!

Mine doesn't appear to use much either, about 1/4 tank in 3 hours of light FEL work. (Course, that depends on the size of the tank.)
