Tried to change Clementine's fuel filter today. Turned the petcock to the horizontal position and unscrewed the filter cover. Diesel gushed all over the place! Turned the petcock 180 degrees to the other horizontal axis and it made no difference at all. It was really coming out! Finally gave up and tightened the cover back till I could ask you guys for advice.

Is there a trick to this?

Hmm, Pete, if I remember right, you're about the 3rd guy to have that problem. My manual says to "clean" the fuel filter every 100 hours and replace every 400 hours. I've never "cleaned" one; they're fairly cheap, so I just replace them. However, I just checked my records and found that I replaced mine at 119 hours and haven't messed with it since (another 200 hours). I guess I ought to change it again. On my B2710, the valve is open when the end is pointed straight down (6 o'clock position) and to close it, turn it counterclockwise to horizontal (3 o'clock position). Of course, I always put a bucket under it because I know I'm going to spill a little bit, but didn't have any problem changing it before, and never had a problem changing the one on the B7100 (same filter; slightly different housing). In other words, I don't understand what could be causing it to fail to shut off for you guys./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif
