Oil & Fuel fuel filter leak

hi everyone ,sorry I know this is a old thread but when I went back to read all posted some you can't redirrect ,I have a drip leak at the fuel filter area ,small drip .took the bowel off and made sure that the o-ring sat right the retighten it turn the fuel back on and after 6 hours I seee uder the area small fuel drip going down the bowel and then off the bottom of the bowel and on the floor.what to do????Harry Ca.ps the charging light seems to be now ok.

I had the same thing happen to me and after taking it off and reinstalling it several times with a new o-ring, I discovered that there was a hariline crack in the bowl right at the lip of it. It was very hard to see and only leaked when the collar was tightened.

Order a new fuel bowl, oring, and filter. I was told that the original bowls shink over time. When u get a new one it will look a little different not quite as clear and softer... I am supprised if your tractor is running good? Make the switch and u be happy!

I had to replace the bowl and such on my 1700 looong ago.. fo rthe same reasons.. shrunk bowl..

A new bowl and o-ring didn't fix my leak. You didn't say, but if you have fuel on top of the filter body, you might want to check the bleed valve.

The filter body on my 2220 had a spring loaded "push-button" bleed valve and overboard drain which was very convenient for bleeding the fuel lines, but the leak was around one of the seals in that. Ran across the top of the filter body, dripped down the bowl, and spotted the floor under the tractor similar to your description. But there was also fuel on top of the filter housing.

I finally stopped the leak by replacing the filter housing. Lost the push-button bleed convenience, but at least it doesn't leak anymore.

There's also one of those push-button/overboard drain bleeders at the fuel pump - but so far, it's not leaking.

We have had a number of those spring loaded bleeders leak, and have not found a good way to repair them. We just replace the fuel bowl head with the version that has bleeder screws...it costs about $28.00 but is rebuildable and virtually never fails beyond repair.

Yeah, that's exactly what I did. The cost for the filter head wasn't enough to put me in bankrupcy court, but if/when the one on the fuel pump follows suit, I may be looking for some diesel proof duct tape.

okay I ordered a new bowel and o-ring (hoye tractor),only question is were on the fuel filter houseing is the bleeder ??? ym 1610d I am not that good with a wrench so t-a-l-k slow,lol.Harry

There will be two....Just above the fuel bowl assembly - one on the fuel tank inlet side and the other (about 2" to it's right) on the way to the fuel injection pump. They are 10mm hex head (centered with Phillips screw) and there should be another (third one) centered at the banjo fitting on your injection pump.
