Fuel filter..spin in or cartrige??

Doing some service on new to me farm pro 2425. I have a spin on new fuel filter that came with tractor, but it looks like it still has the cartrige filter w/housing inplace. I'd like to keep the housing if there's a cross reference filter. If not, is there anything else I need to use the spin on? If the housing & cartrige removed, is there threads there to spin the cartrige on?

One might be a primary filter if it's before the lift pump. Check the hose routing.
