- John Deere 1050 pre 11001 sn
Hello all! First time poster and a novice at tractors. I bought a 1982 1050 and we can't get the hydraulics running. Sounds like the same issue as this thread.

Let me start from the beginning. Hydraulics quit working as soon as we got it. Realized there was water in the fluid as well as deteriorated hose. Flushed four times and got new hoses all around. I am cleaning the metal filter in-between each flush. Rear suction hose I got doesn't fit so I put the old one back on, it looks ok. Front is new and from JD. The metal filter looks fine after the first flush. Changed the filter with an identical wix filter that was already on it. Everything worked for 3-5 minutes and stopped. Changed the filter with a new wix filter again, worked for 3-5 minutes and stopped working. Realized front of screw on filter housing hose has collapsed. (Again, new JD hose)
Took the metal sump filter out and bypassed the spin on filter system with heater hose. Ran it for 10-15 minutes and is working as intended.
Changed to an OEM JD filter (metal pre filter still out) ran for 5 minutes and hose has collapsed again. What am I missing? Thanks in advance!
