I shut off the tank valves and disconnect one side, drain into a coffee can, then install the new filter. Prime one filter at a time until the filter is full (key on, not started), when both are full I open both tank valves and push any remaining air out with the electric pump as above.
You could also clamp the line right at the filter intake to minimize air, but I don't like clamping fuel lines unless I have to.
It's pretty straightforward.
