Has anyone used a Mr. Funnel product with diesel fuel? I've used one for gas and it seems to do a good job removing any water in the gasoline.

John, I used one for awhile, but really never had any water or anything in my diesel for it to filter out. However, my brother sold several of them to construction companies for use with diesel and they all claimed it worked great for separating water from diesel.

Like Bird I've got one and it indeed works with diesel fuel.

Never found any water, that was not put their on purpose to test the funnel, in any of my fuel.

I still use it though just in-case.

I have never herd of the fuel funnel. But I have only ran gas engines. Where do you get such a device?

Earlier this year I posted about a problem with my tractor stalling on inclines. I pulled the globe and fuel filter and found trash and water and crud in it. I have been using Mr. Funnel for almost a year and still managed to get contaminates in my fuel tank. Could the crud have accumulated before I started using the filtering funnel? Perhaps. Perhaps not. I don't know. Just thought I would give another point of view on the matter.

I'm not sure how well it works either. I used my Mr. Funnel for the entire summer. Went through quite a bit of gasoline and only noticed a few drops of water in the sump one time. I empty the sump into a gallon wide mouth jar. When it gets half full I poor it back in the gas can (through the Mr Funnel). Either my fuel has been supper clean or Mr. Funnel doesn't trap water as efficently as they claim. I did try pooring water through the funnel as a test. It blocked the water, didn't see any leaking through. However, the water was not mixed with any fuel.

Many months ago I followed a discussion about this funnel and when Bird indicated that he was using one I thought "Hey, that's good enough for me" and I bought one. As a test I poured a little water into some diesel fuel and the funnel seemed to separate the water as advertised. I've been using the funnel ever since. I don't keep a great deal of diesel fuel on hand and I buy from a reputable dealer who has a fast turn-over so I haven't gotten any bad fuel to my knowledge, however, I always use the funnel "just in case" I regard it as cheap insurance (suspenders and a belt).

Based on the feedback from my post, I think I will keep using the funnel. I'm sure it can't hurt anything. The only downside is that it is a little messy to deal with.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Got my funnel. Had fuel left in can about a month old. Put in tractor 1 cup of watter in fuel.
