Fuel Injector Pump Replacement

/ Fuel Injector Pump Replacement #11
Well I actually received a call from local dealer (Brazos Valley Equipment) before I got a chance chance to call them. They said they have ordered the part, should have replaced by Wednesday next week, and IT WILL BE WARRANTIED under an emissions warranty. Made my day and impressed they checked into it before I called.

Will report after receive tractor back next week. Thanks to all for your help!

Good News! Did they say how long the emissions warranty was?

Good news - Bad news - Good news

As promised, the dealer called saying the tractor was ready. It turned out that my friend purchased a new hay cutter so I had to road the tractor from the dealer to my friend's barn with the new cutter, drop off, pick up a bale of hay & hook up to his cultipacker, then road to my place two miles away. Not one minute into the drive from the dealer I noticed the engine surged a little and I said to myself...they didn't fix it! This is at 4:45pm today. A half mile from friend's place tractor loses all power, will not climb a slight incline, puffs white/blue smoke, etc,,etc...I'm pissed. I call dealer, they send tech to find me...(5:00). Tech follows me at idle speed until I jump out of the tractor cussing that I'm gonna put a bullet into the **** thing. Tech drives tractor - learns what i've been saying the whole time. (By the way, the tech that is here now is a veteran with the tech that worked on the tractor at the dealer). To shorten the saga....I limp to my place and after fiddling with several things, he drains the tank and cleans the filter at the fuel intake line....THAT'S IT!!!! ; WORKS GREAT!!!... Field now ready for sprigs.

So the tractor has a new fuel injection pump courtesy of warranty - wrongly diagnosed but...new

Oh, and in addition... I purchased a hydraulic ripper box blade from dealer a month ago. Used it once but could not get the blade to adjust correctly. In order for it to "cut" correctly it would not raise up enough to back up! (I've dealt with box blades for 25 years...no dummy) That was a month ago I dropped off the tractor with blade for dealer to figure out. They did...Turns out the linkage plate needed turned over to drop linkage arm holes down in order to work properly. It was plain in the manual...wish I had one as the previous owner did not give me one. Just a tidbit.

All in all...very happy with Brazos Valley Equipment. They were very courteous and responsive.

I'm glad you got it going. So if I'm understanding you correctly the problem was a clogged fuel filter not inj pump??

No offense to the dealer but they didn't do a proper diagnosis, very last item to look at after getting junk in filters is injection pump replacement.

The problem was the fuel line in the tank. It apparently has a screen on the intake end that was clogged.

I agree that it was a poor diagnosis but I have mellowed with age so I'm happy.

I have a 2013 5075M. I had a similar experience at less than 50 hrs, except my engine didn't die, sputter or smoke. I would throw a code occasionally when I hit 2200 RPM (540 PTO speed) with the "!" cautionary exclamation warning and beeping. I called the dealer and the tech came out and pulled the code. The code was low fuel pressure. He said that occasionally, plastic shavings from the milling/drilling on the fuel tank from manufacturing may be left in the tank will collect in the line and choke off the fuel. He asked me to drain the fuel for later use being careful to strain it with a filter. He then he cleaned the tank, lines and replaced the fuel filter (warranty of course) and the problem has never resurfaced. I am surprised it took yours 800 hours to show up. Sorry I didn't catch your thread earlier or I would have mentioned my experience and may have saved you a bit of frustration.
