Fuel line leaking at fitting

I have a John Deere 650, the fuel line is bleeding fuel up the line above the fitting Where it ties into the fuel pump. I replaced the line with one on eBay since they no longer make them. I have tightened it and checked again and again. What should I be checking? I can't get the leak to stop.

It sounds as if the injector body is buggered up??
You could take some sandpaper & give the line a good scrub at the ferrule.. be sure & blow it out.

Could be a fractured fuel pump casting. Tapered pipe threads can fracture thin sections with over-tightened fittings. Especially aluminum and pot metal castings.

Yes, u are correct.. I've seen more split injector connectors than I've seen pump connectors tho..
Think of it this way.. u had a leak.. u suspected the LINE.. u replaced the LINE & it still leaked.. so chances are pretty good it aint the LINE..

Agreed. But everything else appears in good condition.

I see some 1998 650's for sale, so JD made them at least that long, it really sucks that JD would stop making the fuel lines so quickly!.. perhaps a shop that makes hydraulic lines can help, it's probably a bad fitting.. I'd remove the line, and look for cracks or deformation closely with a magnifier!..

The line looks not to be straight up and down or is that the camera angle? It has to be straight.

A good wrench turner cam make steel fuel lines ☺
