You are very correct there. And my apology for commenting that I did. I guess I was extrapolating from your explanation, and giving advice, based on that. I shouldn't have, and am sorry.

about 20 to 25 years ago a good friend if mine put an addition on his house (office and family room) He purchased a kerosene unit similar to a toyo laser. It worked great, no smell, very little maintenance, low fuel costs.

Well after 20 or so years it was wearing out, and due to its age parts were hard to come buy. He bought a new toyo and likes it even better than the first. More efficient.

I liked the unit so much I have been toying with the idea of getting one my self. I'm getting tired of the gas company's price adjustments in the winter. most people up here were paying 200 to 400 per month the last 2 winters.

I do supplement my gas heat with a kerosene space heater www.toyotomiusa.com/products/PortableHeaters.html Click on the heater for more info. Great unit very clean.

Looking good for some type of "suitcase" fuel oil heater. Going to ask local supplier about the Miser OM-22, a smaller unit. I still have to wait for the concrete work to start and finish--beginning of November. No walks, driveway or concrete slab to set tank on.

I guess I'll find how much thermal mass mass the shop has and how well the insulation works by then. We're still having 80 degree days, but night temps are dropping.

( Duc, thanks. The Toyo unit is just a plain ole heater--looks to operate similar to yours. Since I don't need the ambiance of a fire or good looking furniture in the shop, I'll stick with the toyo--if I still go that way.

Riding note: I've a BMW K100, been looking at a multi-strada any advice? )

They offer a few different designs other than the fancy looking ones. I cant say enough good things about it. I think the most expensive unit is about $1600. You will save that in fuel costs over some cold winters. You will need to search for local suppliers but they do exist...

Good luck on the strada search !

I think I'll pass on that offer. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Just moving into the new shop. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I'm emptying the storage units in town. I'll wait to put the cars in until after the heavy stuff is moved. Two interesting things about moving into the new shop. 1) This isn't as big as I thought. It's filling up quick /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif, and 2) it's just like Christmas opening all the boxes I haven't been into for two years. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
