Fuel price spread

Gas War! The Amoco station next to that BP is now down to $1.529. BP was in the process of changing their sign as I was driving past.

As an aside, why is there a BP station next door to an Amoco station? Aren't they the same company?

In WNY today regular is about 2.05.
Diesel is still about 2.20

Is capitalism great or what? The price of crude oil has slipped (although it is going back up now), and even though it never makes headlines, oil refiners actually do lower their prices when their costs go down.

They are now, but didn't used to be. It takes a long time to fully integrate two companies that large, especially the marketing divisions.
