Greetings,

New member from Pa.

Having a fuel problem with a JD GT275. Fuel in tank but not in line. (should be simple) blowback in line produces bubbles in tank but fuel does not flow. Can not find an inline filter so there should not be a filter clog problem.

Is there a fuel pump in line or is it a gravity supply?

Looking at the deere parts diagrams John Deere - Parts Catalog it looks like there is indeed an inline filter and the fuel line compes out the TOP of the tank. It also (in another diagram) shows a fuel pump. The pump is probabally located on the engine. So if you blew air back through the line, fuel will NOT free-flow because it would need a vacuum to get a siphon re-started. This is what the fuel pump would do.

I would try un-hooking the fuel line AT the carb and see if it is pumping gas when you crank the engine over. (May take awhile because you blew all the fuel out of the line).

If that dont work, see if the fuel pump is even working. You can take a short peice of hose and stick on the pump inlet and down in a jar of gas. See if it sucks the gas out and pumps it.

If thats okay, the pump is NOT getting gas from the tank. And if it blows bubbles like you said, it is possible that the fuel lines are shot from ethanol gas and collapsing instead of sucking gas when the fuel pump puts them under vacuum. This type of problem would not be eviden by your compressed air test.
