I don't think they well work. They bolt right on the engine with no way of putting a barb fitting in the hole that picks up crankcase pressure.
Depends upon which pump you are talking about- the pumps used on the late '50s/early'60's big twins used the hose, and they also have a glass bowl and strainer incorporated.
Sierra (available though NAPA) makes a rebuild kit for these (some direct-mounted OMC pumps do not have rebuild kits available)
