Fuel Storage signs?

I didn't have a choice... the local Fire Inspector told me it was a compliance issue and I also had to buy the triangle/number hazard label pertaining to Diesel.

Is there an exemption for gallons under a certain amount or do you have to label it no matter how small the amount stored?

Is your diesel inside or outside??

How about home heating oil, do the same rules apply to it as diesel???

The Genset is outside in my fenced side yard on a concrete pad and not visable from the street and my neigbor is glad I have it because I told him to feel free to run a cord to his freezer/refrigerator if the power is out.

The summer California had rolling blackouts... I was very popular with my immediate neighbors... I came home one night and found three of my neighbors had plugged into my generator... which isn't a problem and I'm glad to help... since we all look out for each other... I just told them to be aware if they plug in more than the 20amp outlet could handle and the breaker trips... they would all be out of luck.

I have never come across a property with home heating oil anywhere inside the city limits... Over 400,000 people live here... but in 30 years in and around the building industry I never even heard of one in a residence.

Pacific Gas and Electric started at the turn of the century and before that, many homes already had gas lighting fixtures... I still come across homes with the original gas fixtures in tact...

Most pre-war homes in Oakland where built without space heating... other than an ornamental fire place in the living room and many had combination gas/wood fired Wedgewood stoves in the kitchens... I've saved several of them from the scrap heap and they are very well built...

Yes, as far as the City is concerned...

So then stick a couple of wheels on it or put it inside and you wouldn't to have to fool with those rules rite.

Good question and I will need to find out...

The tank is 60 gallons normally, but I have the required double containment tank so my actual is 30 gallons full.

I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue except for the fact it is a "Permanent Tank" vs. Portable.

Lots of pick-up trucks around here hold more than 30 gallons of fuel... my chevy van holds 34 and my neighbors excursion hold 42 gallons...

1*I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue except for the fact it is a Permanent Tank vs. Portable.

1* Better get some wheels under it / that'll make it a lot safer
2*Yeah and most of it's the more hazardous gasoline.
