Here is a picture of our diesel tank. The tank is sloped to the right where we hooked up a drain line and a ball valve underneath the tank to make it simple to drain any condensate that might build up. We also plugged the end of the ball valve as a safety precaution. Oil is pumped from the left side of the tank. We added a spin on filter to take care of any impurities in the diesel before it gets to our tractor.

OK, I give up.

Does anyone know where I can get a pad lockable valve to replace my current broken one? I've searched and searched on google and have not found what I'm looking for.

My current one turns a quarter turn to open and close. It just has a bar as part of the valve that I use a pair of pliers to turn it with. It also has a loop for a padlock that is part of the moving mechanism, that when closed, lines up with fixed one. 1" openings.

Any ideas?

Any good (real) hardware store should have them.

Lacking that, IIRC, I bought one from McMaster Carr once upon a time.

I can't do a link, but go to their website mcmaster.com and type "drum valve" in the search box.

Maurice I was at TSC over the weekend and I'll swear I think they had those lockable valves with their fuel stuff. If not any fuel tank supplier would have them.

I've looked though our local Bomgaars and they don't carry them I'll have to drive a little farther and try TSC. If not, as suggested, I'll need to hunt down a good hardware store.
