It is 49 degrees this morning and a feel of Autum is in the air. Nice load in the bucket. Darn if you have extra bring by.

Grapple loads are selling for big money this fall, got a price of $1,000 for a load the other day, and he thought it would be 8 to 8 1/2 cord. So it is back into the woods and pulling tree logs out.

Good Evenin Guys,
Oleozz, the wood shed is just to the left of Uncle Daves garage so I can stay on the driveway with the tractor, that makes it pretty easy and dont spill too often ! ;)

Beam, thanks for those shots, you have sufficiently embarrassed all of us wood burners with those stacking shots, so thats enough of that ! :) For those that wondered why I asked beam for the stove shot, he has the stove that I want, hopefully I can buy it someday without taking out a mortgage ! ;)

Hello Wayne, yep 49 is getting a bit of a chill in the air, not quite that cold here in Ct but Im sure it was all of that in East Wells, but of course Im not there right now ! :(

Its almost time to get my splitter out and start on next winters supply ! :)

Well Scott, one more to make you drool then, this is the Hearthstone heritage. It takes 21" logs from the side door. Weighs right at 500#s and has no firebricks, solid blocks of soapstone make up the walls and the stove does not have a catalytic converter to meet EPA. A single lever controls the stove. The dog photo is the one that sealed the deal for me. The current prices are about 2900$ for the black one like mine and about 300$ more for the fancy enamel paintjobs. The back of this stove can be 7" from a combustible (wood even) wall for nice compact installations. Vents out the rear or top.

The equivalent size woodstock brand stove has a catalytic converter for longer/lower burns and is very attractive with larger clearance requirements and no front door, side only. It runs in the low 2000$ range. Vents out the rear only with large rear clearance requirements.

That sure looks like the hard way to get rid of your wood. Here, I just put the whole tree into the fire. Once I get a few dozen of them in there, they all burn up in just a day. It looks like the way you are doing it, you'll be burning that wood all winter long.

Eddie

Good Evenin Eddie,
Dont know how I missed your post !

Well if our temps were in the 80's we wouldnt be too concerned with strechin that wood out over the course of the winter ! ;)

BTW I have seen some of tour burn piles ! Lots of BTU goin up quickly ! :)

Beam thanks for that updated shot, God that stove is pure beauty !!! It wants me hope for cold weather and snow coming down, looking out into the woods with the spotlights on ! :) Oh yeah and a good glass of burbon in my hand, oh maybe 101 Wild Turkey !:)
