Saw this while in Indiana. Was wondering what it was used for. I thought maybe is was for logging work.

I would say that you thought correctly. The attached picture is of a "Franklin Treefarmer" Grapple Skidder. Ntice the almost identicle similarity to the cage and the frnt deflector rail. I am sure there is some official name for them, but I don't know it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

With out seeing what is attached it is hard to say but I agree it looks like for forestry use as it almost looks like a skidder attachment hooked to the back. Around here though, National Fuel uses tractors like these for keeping the gas lines maintained. Always have a brush chopper hooked to the back of them and they will drive them through anything.

I've seen them used for mowing electric and gas right of ways. Some of which I wouldn't even walk up or down.

Solo, your right they are used for mowing right of ways. My grandpa builds the roll cages for them tractors.

It did have a rotary cutter on back of it. (brush hog)

Any idea what a similar cage like this for a NH TN75 would cost?

They are usually custom made. Find yourself a metal fabricating shop, tell them what you want and see what they can do for you. Or, buy some metal, a welder and a few other toys and try to build one up yourself. It is a fun task. I plan to build one up some day when I find a decent canidate for a pure brush chopping tractor. I want to design it in 3 pieces. A front section, top section and rear section all bolted together so I can remove it easily if need be.

Saw this on the side of the road this morning. The cage probably weighs more than my whole NH TC26DA.
