Furukawa ?

My SIL is interested in one...he says it's around the size of a D2 or thereabouts.

Does anyone here have any good or bad (in general) regarding the brand?

A Furukawa dozer model FD45P1WS weighs in at 10K. It is a 39HP dozer with a 6 way blade. Made in Japan or Thailand? Unsure of reliability of unit since I don't know anyone who has one or where to get parts if needed. I'd look for a D2 if thats the size he's looking for.

I rented one from a local equipment rental for about a week. Unit worked fine no problems. The people at the rental office claimed they had very few problems with it. I used it clear stumps and brush. It handled the smaller stuff under 6", but ran out of power on the bigger stuff. Kinda like a little dog and a big bone - If he's determined enough he'll finally chew threw it - It's just going to take a while.
