FYI: Fuel usage with a 3520 and a MX5

Just finished mowing 45 acres with a 3520 and rc2072 6 foot. 31 gallons, 24.5 hours on the meter, 27 rocks to trim around, 2.5 miles of edge trimming, mostly thin grassand small bushes, 2 acres of heavy 3 foot grass. Full throttle 2800 rpm.

1-1/4 gal per hour certainly aint bad. My L3400 was a tad less HP and a bit lighter too to get ~1 gph.

How often you do those 45 acres? Never done anything that big. Biggest I did was ~20 acres with my L3400 / 6' cutter. Never anything that took more than a day to do.

Did 30 acres +/- with the mx5100 in ~8 hours. I would have had to really push it to do 45 acres in a day. Have you considered larger equip?

I mow once a year in mid July. Its a 270 mile one way tow with the f150 / 10k trailer which limits size, could probably go up 1 frame size and be a little faster/ less bouncy on the mow. 3520 is really bouncy compared to a normal farm tractor��

Same fuel economy I got with my old L3400 bota, be it with a 5' or 6' cutter.

My new MX5100 with 8' cutter is ~2 gph. But I can cut about twice as fast also:thumbsup:

About the same for my MX5100, maybe a little less.
